1. Color.

Due to the different colors of the adherend, the color requirements of the hot melt adhesive film should be different. If the adherend itself has no special requirements for color, it is recommended to use yellow hot-melt adhesive film. Generally speaking, yellow hot-melt adhesive film is more viscous than white.

2. Surface treatment of the adherend.

The surface treatment of the hot-melt adhesive film on the adherend is not as strict as other adhesives, but the dust and oil on the surface of the adherend should also be properly treated so that the hot-melt adhesive film can play a better role in adhesion.

3. Operating time.

Fast operation is a major feature of hot melt adhesive film. The operating time of hot melt adhesive film is generally about 15 seconds. With the widespread use of modern production methods-assembly lines, the operating time of hot melt adhesive film is getting shorter and shorter, such as book binding and speaker manufacturing. The operating time requirement is about 5 seconds.

4. Temperature resistance.

The hot melt adhesive film is sensitive to temperature. When the temperature reaches a certain level, the hot-melt adhesive film begins to soften. Below a certain temperature, the hot-melt adhesive film will become brittle, so the selection of the hot-melt adhesive film must fully consider the temperature change of the environment where the product is located.

5. Stickiness.

The viscosity of the hot melt adhesive film is divided into early viscosity and late viscosity. Only when the early tack and the later tack are consistent, can the hot melt adhesive film and the adherend be kept stable. In the production process of hot melt adhesive film, it should be guaranteed that it has antioxidant, halogen resistance, acid and alkali resistance and plasticity. Depending on the material of the adherend, the viscosity of the hot melt adhesive film is also different. Therefore, different hot melt adhesive films should be selected according to different materials.
